When
I was a little girl I decided that I wanted to serve a mission and
I was really excited by the primary Hymn "I Hope they Call Me on a
Mission". I also knew that my mom
and dad had both served missions and I wanted to be just like them. Until just recently that was still my reason
in the back of my head. Then October
2012 general conference where Thomas S. Monson gave the announcement about the
mission age change and then I knew this was what I needed to do. So I called my parents and told them that was
what I was going to do and they knew that's what I would say after they had
heard the age change. Well I talked to
my bishop and started my mission papers, and while I was in the midst of
working on my papers we had our stake conference up at school and President
Zenger asked those who had recently decided to serve missions to decide why we
really wanted to serve a mission. It was that day when I realized that my
reason of going on a mission because my parents went on a mission was no longer
good enough, then my reason became because I have seen and experienced the joy
that the gospel brings and I want to be able to share the opportunity to find
that joy to as many of God's children as I can.
I am so glad that I have the opportunity to serve the people of Spain
and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them. I am so excited to be in Spain.
